New York Flavor

Serendipity 3- New York City-  A friend and I patronized the very popular New York City eatery, Serendipity (just down the block from Bloomingdale’s – one of my shopping haunts).  It was my friend’s first time and my first time in a very long time.  The seats were crammed so closely together that one wrong move could have you knocking shoulders with someone at the next table.  The menus seemed larger than the table we sat at and we could hardly open them without slapping our neighbors in the face.  I can’t remember the food I ordered, but I was actually served something I hadn’t ordered. (It must’ve been a new waiter, because it was all the way wrong.)  I politely rejected the wrong order and opted to change my original order to just a goblet of Serendipity’s famous frozen hot chocolate, which was delicious.   I’m willing to give Serendipity another try, as I am curious to experience their very interesting cuisine. (Well, the menu seems interesting.)  Wait!  At Serendipity you can buy a $1,000 sundae that contains gold flakes.  Imagine that, eating gold.  My palate isn’t quivering to try it, but if I ever hit the billion dollar lottery, I’ll buy one just for the novelty of saying I did.
