Broadway- Sister Act.

I was privileged to see this play on Broadway this summer.  Raven Symone played “Delores” and was fabulous in her role, to say the least.  She had the audience roaring with laughter.  Raven brought an exuberance and energy that kept everyone on the edge of their seat with excitement.  The play is closely modeled after the movie that starred Whoopi Goldberg in 1992.  You’ll recognize several scenes, such as when Delores witnesses her boyfriend kill someone.  She then goes into witness protection inside of a convent and while there she becomes a choir leader to the nuns.  Her antics are hilarious, as well as the goons that eventually track her down at the convent.  Each scene was well executed.  The singing was great.  And, I was in awe of the quick stage changes.   The behind the scenes people should be very proud of the production they created.  This play was worth every expensive penny I paid to see it.

I am so happy I went to see it again, becasue guess what? Some sad news-it’s no longer on broadway in New York, the week of August the 20th was the last week. I do have a poster signed by all the cast members. This was a special item offered in the Spring, I am so happy I purchased it.
